Trump Claims Kamala Funded Beyoncé and Springsteen Endorsements, Calls for Investigation

Former President Donald Trump has announced his intention to investigate Kamala Harris‘s campaign, alleging that she improperly compensated celebrities for their endorsements during her presidential run. Trump’s claims center on illegal payments made to celebrities who participated in her campaign events.

Trump went on to suggest that other prominent figures, including Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and Bono, may have received payments for their endorsements of Harris. He implied that these endorsements were financially motivated rather than genuine support for her campaign.

In a follow-up post on Monday, Trump stated that Beyoncé allegedly received $11 million to endorse Harris, claiming that she was met with boos as she left the stage. In his trademark capitalization, he demanded explanations from Springsteen, Oprah, Bono, “AND, PERHAPS, MANY OTHERS.”

Trump asserted that candidates are prohibited from purchasing endorsements, alleging that Harris’s strategy was an “expensive and desperate attempt” to inflate her modest crowd sizes during campaign events.

In November, Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, explicitly refuted claims that her daughter received payment for her appearance at a Houston rally for Harris, claiming that Beyoncé covered her own expenses.

Last year, Oprah informed media sources that she was not compensated for her endorsement and had not personally accepted funds from the campaign. While her production company was reportedly paid, it was not in the amounts claimed by Trump.

Bruce Springsteen performed at an event supporting Harris in Philadelphia last October, but there is no evidence suggesting he was compensated for the performance.

Recently, Trump expressed his displeasure with criticism received from Springsteen, who was on an international tour. Trump lashed out on social media, referring to Springsteen as “dumb” and a “prune,” advising him to “KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT” until he returns to the United States.

The origins of Trump’s allegations regarding illicit payments remain unclear. It is important to note that compensating artists for performance or professional services is typically not considered illegal. As of now, Trump has promised to initiate an investigation, yet no further actions have been observed as of Monday.

It’s worth mentioning that during his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump featured numerous celebrity endorsements, which included notables like Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Joe Rogan, and Sylvester Stallone.

Efforts have been made to reach out to Beyoncé, Springsteen, Bono, and Oprah for their perspectives on Trump’s assertions, but responses have not yet been received.
