Details of the Incident
Former NFL linebacker Adarius Taylor found himself in serious legal trouble after being arrested for leaving his 6-year-old son unattended in a vehicle while he engaged with a prostitute, according to authorities.
Law enforcement officials revealed that the incident took place on May 8. Taylor was reportedly responding to a fabricated advertisement posted online by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, which promoted escort services in exchange for cash.
Events Leading Up to the Arrest
After arriving at an unspecified location, Taylor left his child inside the vehicle while he went inside a structure that appeared to be a hotel room, where he made contact with an undercover officer posing as a prostitute.
The Arrest and Consequences
Authorities captured footage of Taylor engaging in conversation about sexual acts before he abruptly exited the premises. Seconds later, he was taken into custody for allegations of soliciting prostitution and lewd behavior.
The situation escalated when police discovered Taylor’s son left alone in the car, leading to additional charges of child neglect.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office
Official Statements
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd expressed his disbelief at Taylor’s actions, stating, “It’s clear to me that he has suffered from too many hits as a linebacker, as his decision-making is severely impaired. It’s beyond comprehension to leave a child alone in those circumstances.”
Taylor faces charges related to soliciting prostitution and child neglect, and Judd was quick to emphasize that neglecting a child is particularly concerning given the circumstances.
Concerns for the Child’s Well-Being
Sheriff Judd also revealed that the child has “a lot of medical issues,” underscoring the severity of leaving him unattended in the car.
Judd remarked, “This child should never have been left alone, especially due to his medical condition. It is a miracle that nothing tragic happened.”
Aftermath and Future Proceedings
Fortunately, Sheriff Judd confirmed that the boy was retrieved by his mother and is currently in good health following the incident.
As for Taylor, who has not yet made a public statement regarding the arrests, he is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on June 10, according to legal documents.
