The legal documents submitted by Diddy’s team provide several reasons for seeking dismissal. Among these reasons are claims related to the statute of limitations, improper group pleading, and other procedural issues that the defense argues inhibit the case from proceeding further.

Within Diddy’s legal documents, his attorneys characterize Richard’s actions as an attempt to capitalize on the negative publicity surrounding him. They claim that Richard has been “transforming narratives of alleged injuries against others into a headline-grabbing sex trafficking conspiracy as to her,” which they call an exploitation of the current climate.

Interestingly, the request for dismissal was filed on the same day that Richard took the witness stand in Diddy’s federal sex trafficking trial. Her arrival at the courthouse drew attention, as she was seen wearing a stylish checkered blazer and adorned with a nose piercing.

During her testimony, Dawn Richard claimed to have witnessed Diddy physically assaulting another woman, Cassie. She recounted an alleged incident from 2009, stating that she saw Diddy try to hit Cassie with a skillet.
